The Hungarian Association of Animation Artists brings the award-winning American animation director and producer Sean Buckelew to Budapest.
Sean saját pályáján keresztül enged betekintést az animációs ipar világába: a független alkotóként készített első filmjeitől egészen a hollywoodi animációs produkciókig.
Through his own career, Sean offers a look into the world of the animation industry — from his first films made as an independent artist all the way to Hollywood animation productions.
Mesél arról, hogyan indított barátaival saját független stúdiót, milyen kihívásokkal találkozott az alkotói szabadság és a szakmai elvárások egyensúlyának megtalálásában, valamint arról, hogyan próbálta megőrizni művészi integritását a hollywoodi rendszerben.
He talks about how he started his own independent studio with friends, the challenges of balancing creative freedom with professional expectations, and how he tried to preserve his artistic integrity within the Hollywood system.

Sean Buckelew a California Institute of the Arts kísérleti animáció szakán szerzett mesterdiplomát, alapszakos képzését pedig a School of the Art Institute of Chicago intézményében végezte.
Sean Buckelew earned his MFA in Experimental Animation at the California Institute of the Arts, and completed his BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
2021-ben megalapította a Los Angeles-i Green Street Pictures független animációs stúdiót. Szerzői rövidfilmjeit többek között a Slamdance, az Ottawa International Animation Festival, a Palm Springs International ShortFest és az Animafest Zagreb programjában mutatták be.
In 2021 he founded the independent animation studio Green Street Pictures in Los Angeles. His auteur short films have screened at Slamdance, the Ottawa International Animation Festival, Palm Springs International ShortFest and Animafest Zagreb, among others.
Szabadúszóként mozifilmeken és reklámokon is dolgozik, többek között az Adult Swim és az MTV számára. Emellett a GLAS Animation Festival programkurátora.
As a freelancer he also works on feature films and commercials, including for Adult Swim and MTV. He is also a programmer for the GLAS Animation Festival.

Az előadás utáni szakmai beszélgetést a sokszorosan díjnyertes Bucsi Réka animációs rendező moderálja, és a jelenlévő alkotók, szakemberek is bekapcsolódhatnak a diskurzusba. Magyarországról és a szomszédos országokból egyaránt várjuk az animációs szakma képviselőit, a forgatókönyvírókat, rendezőket, valamint a kreatív és televíziós producereket.
The talk is followed by a professional discussion moderated by the multi-award-winning animation director Réka Bucsi, in which the artists and professionals present can also take part. We welcome representatives of the animation profession, screenwriters, directors, and creative and television producers — from Hungary and neighbouring countries alike.
